Product, AI, Platforms, and Strategy — On a Flexible Basis
While my primary focus is a full-time senior product leadership role, I also take on
consulting and advisory engagements when capacity allows. These work best when you need
someone who can ramp quickly on hard multi-disciplinary problems, create structure in
ambiguous situations, and help you move from strategic question to shipped work.
My most recent engagement wrapped in August 2026.
Recent Engagement
AI Governance Operating Model for a State Transportation Department (2026)
I designed and authored a 150-page operating model for a newly-formed Data & AI
office at a 23,000-employee state department. Core design decisions: a behavior-based
classification of AI tools; a three-dimensional risk model (harm × control-gap
× dependency) that rates each independently instead of collapsing them into one
misleading score; disclosure discipline for AI-generated content; and a metrics
doctrine grounded in NIST, aviation-style near-miss reporting, and Goodhart's Law.
Two narrow policy asks — a category clearance for low-risk built tools and a
carve-out for everyday use of outside tools on public information — dissolved
what would otherwise have been a scaling problem requiring new bureaucracy. Framework
retained by the Data & AI office through end of engagement.
Short- to medium-term support, typically scoped in weeks or a defined number of hours,
focused on:
Product strategy, positioning, and roadmap
AI/GenAI opportunities and realistic use cases
Competitive analysis and differentiation
Requirements definition and refinement
“Second set of eyes” on strategy, decks, or architecture
2. Interim / Fractional Product Leadership
For teams that need a Product Manager / Product Owner or product leader to fill a gap:
Acting PM/PO for a new initiative, product, or business line
Interim coverage while you hire a permanent leader
Helping early teams put in just enough process to ship reliably
3. Technical & AI Projects
Hands-on work combining product thinking with implementation detail, especially for
emerging AI-based systems:
LLM prototypes and reference implementations (Python, AWS, Bedrock, LangChain)
RAG pipelines, evaluation harnesses, and prompt engineering workflows
Secure, cloud-native architectures for AI-powered applications
Data analysis and analytics prototypes to validate hypotheses
4. Advisory / Founder Support
I enjoy working with founders at the “pre-everything” stage – before everything is
locked in and while the shape of the business is still fluid.
Refining value propositions and narratives
Thinking through AI, data, and platform strategy
Shaping initial roadmap, milestones, and GTM experiments
Helping bridge investor, customer, and technical perspectives
Selected Past Engagements
Solidcore.ai — security requirements aligned to NIST framework, competitive differentiation analysis vs. AWS and Azure native capabilities, structured customer-discovery calls, and demo prototypes with clean scenario/test/confirmation structure
4L Managed Accounting — Python-based financial-loading application built to specific quirky business requirements; configurable by non-technical users via config file for scenario adjustment
Rendevuz.com — product advisory for social-app early-stage founder; pitch refinement, user stories, and user-journey design
Expert-network consulting engagements — 20+ hours across AI market, software transition, and networking industry topics for top-tier consulting firms and investment analysts seeking domain background
Why Work With Me as a Consultant
Trusted with hard multi-disciplinary problems where multiple groups struggle to communicate effectively
Real depth across AI, platforms, networking, and security — with recent hands-on work in Claude API, AWS Bedrock, MCP, and Copilot Studio
Can create clarity and structure in ambiguous situations
Comfortable talking with engineers, executives, customers, and partners in each of their languages
Bias toward shipping over talking about shipping
Engagement Model
Most consulting work is structured as time-and-materials with clearly defined scopes
and regular check-ins. For founder advisory roles, compensation may include equity
and milestone-based components.
Availability depends on existing commitments; full-time employment takes precedence.
